The 2023 Degree Show at York St John

The 2023 Degree Show at York St John is an opportunity for our undergraduate and postgraduate students to take a bow. They have worked incredible hard to produce contemporary artistic practice that demands the spotlight.

We are proud to present the work of our students and to make visible the incredible community of practices that exist across these distinct but inter-connected courses in Fine Art, Illustration and Photography.

Informed by intellectual rigor and research, this degree show is characteristic of the vision, care and commitment of students studying creative subjects at York St John University. The lives, stories, conceptual thinking, methods, approaches and techniques of our students is realised in this final group exhibition. It is both a marker of great achievement and a document of the learning that takes place when creative practice is foregrounded, prioritised and defended.

We welcome you to this exhibition with huge amounts of pride for art’s ability to help us question our world and provide us with something momentous to shout about.
