The Gathering, Hamar, Norway

Hamar UNESCO Media Arts City is pleased to invite youth and young adults from the UNESCO media arts cities network to take part at this year’s the Gathering in Hamar, Norway, 5-9 April 2023.

The Gathering (or "TG" for short) has been arranged since 1992 and has always been a hub for young creative people to battle it out in many types of competitions; demo-coding, music, graphics, animation, gaming and hardware modification, to name a few. Every year, around 5000 young and old computer enthusiasts gather to share experiences, meet new friends and have a great time at one of the most unique events of our time – The Gathering. The Gathering is organized by the non-profit youth organization KANDU.

Hamar UNESCO City of Media Arts has entered into a cooperation with The Gathering in order to allow young people from other media arts cities to enjoy this spectacular event: https://www.gathering.org/tg23/page/unesco-media-arts-cities-in-hamar.

We are offering free admission to the event for the first 30 participants registering from cities belonging to the UNESCO media arts network. Book your free tickets here.

The event is open for all youth above 16 years of age. To facilitate easy participation at the Gathering, Hamar UNESCO City of Media Arts will be present at the Oslo airport April 5th to guide and assist arriving participants for onward travel to Hamar. All participants should bring their own PC/gaming machines, as well as sleeping bag and other necessities to camp comfortably at the Gathering. Hotel accommodation may be arranged at special rates.
